A friendship built on a shared vision.

Before the pieces came a shared story. For Charly Molinelli and Marzio Cerea, it began in Calvi more than twenty years ago. Early seasons working together, paths that parted and crossed again, and a trust that has lasted through the years.

Charly has a distinctive way of seeing objects. He explores the memories they hold, shifts their purpose and brings together worlds that seemed far apart. In 2011, his Crashed Ferrari Table brought damaged bodywork into the home. The material still carries its history; the gesture gives it a new presence.

In 2018, the two friends came together again in Singapore for A Summer in Paris, with a space designed by Charly. Far from Corsica, in a city looking to the future, their dialogue continued.

A conversation in 2019 set it on a new course. What if furniture could be collected for what it expressed? What if each creation could retain the freedom of a gesture, without becoming the starting point for a series?

Nine was born from that conviction.

Its name embodies that intention. As the final single digit before ten, nine represents fulfilment, completion and wholeness for its founders. A creation brought to completion, with nothing missing. Then the freedom to imagine the next.

Charly designs the pieces and leads the artistic vision. Marzio supports the studio’s beginnings and development. Their friendship takes shape in a shared project, with time devoted to research, experimentation and making.

In 2023, Valentina marked its first chapter. A damaged engine, preserved within a structure of glass and steel. Mechanical memory transformed into a sculpture to live with. Its presentation at TheArsenale in Dubai in 2025 continued the story.

Every Nine creation exists as a single physical piece. It will never be made in another version or reissued.
